Linger
How I long for sweet release
The death of pain, the birth of peace
When I find no more profound
Only sorrows to confound
Then I know the time is nigh
To bid this woeful world goodbye
For reasons, I have searched in vain
To tarry in this world of pain
But to my senses do I come
When I ponder all the damage done
To that one sweet, precious life
Who, though this world be filled with strife
I ponder what the loss would cause
And it strengthens my resolve to pause
For how could I inflict such pain
On a child who has so much to gain
Who's outlook is so happy and pure
He's the reason I will endure
For the love of that child that I adore
Who's outlook is so happy and pure
